The Link Between Childhood PTSD & Obesity

Mary Giuliani shares her story how she finally won the battle with a 40 year struggle with food, weight & her body.

The tables are turned this time since it is Mary who is being interviewed!  Anna Runkle with Crappy Childhood Fairy interviews Mary about the undeniable link that was found in the landmark ACE (Adverse Childhood Experiences) study between early childhood adversity, childhood PTSD and how it can set a person up to use food to soothe an anxious brain, mind and body.    Mary shares what it was like for her growing up in an extremely stressful environment and how she started to use food to cope at just five years old.  She also shares how the brain, mind and body are impacted by childhood PTSD, how to let go of the shame of having this struggle, and what types of support actually work in healing the real issue with severe obesity: Unresolved childhood PTSD.
